Jill D. McLeigh is Director of Policy, Advocacy and Research at the Rees-Jones Center for Foster Care Excellence at Children’s Health in Dallas, Texas. In this role, Dr. McLeigh oversees the Center’s efforts to advocate, collaborate, and conduct research aimed at promoting the health and well-being of young people with child welfare involvement. This includes serving as the board chair for the North Texas Foster Care Consortium, on the Steering Committee for the Child Protection Roundtable, and is a member of the Children’s Commission Collaborative Council. Dr. McLeigh also serves as co-editor for the International Journal on Child Maltreatment and board past-president of the Global Alliance for Behavioral Health and Social Justice. She is a Center for Pediatric Population Health Fellow with the University of Texas School of Public Health. Prior to joining the Center, Dr. McLeigh was a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Her primary research and policy interests have focused on understanding how services to families and young people should be designed and delivered, so as to promote child safety and well-being. Her BA, MS, and PhD are from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Carnegie Mellon University, and Clemson University.
